Trauma Intensives

Weekly therapy can be powerful—but it’s not the right pace for everyone. Some people need more time, more space, and more depth to move through trauma. If you're craving relief now, a trauma intensive might be what helps you finally shift. I offer Brainspotting trauma intensives to help you access and release what's been holding you back—without waiting months to feel better.

Brainspotting Intensives: What to Expect

Black Woman Smiling and Looking at the City
  • Every trauma intensive begins with a free 15-minute consultation, offered via secure video or phone. This is a relaxed, no-pressure space for us to get to know each other, explore what’s bringing you in, and discuss whether a Brainspotting intensive might be the right path for you.

We’ll talk about how you’re feeling, what patterns or symptoms have been showing up, and where you’re hoping to see change. I’ll introduce you to the power of Brainspotting intensives and how they differ from weekly therapy. You’re welcome to ask anything about my approach, what to expect, or how this process works.

My goal is to help you feel informed and supported, even if we decide not to move forward together. If it turns out a Brainspotting intensive isn’t the best fit, I’ll offer referrals to other trusted providers in my network who may better meet your needs.

If it does feel like a good fit, I’ll guide you through the next steps, including scheduling your sessions, reviewing the consent process, and getting everything set up for your personalized healing experience.

  • Once you decide to move forward with a Brainspotting intensive, we’ll schedule a 90-minute pre-intensive session. This is where we lay the foundation for our work together—building trust, clarity, and a roadmap tailored specifically to your healing goals.

Before our session, you’ll get access to a secure client portal where you can complete a series of thoughtfully designed questionnaires. These forms help me learn more about you—your history, symptoms, and hopes—so we can make the most of our time together.

During this meeting, we’ll go far beyond basic intake. We’ll take a deep dive into the heart of what’s brought you here:

    • Assessing your symptoms and current distress – Together, we’ll explore the emotional, physical, and relational symptoms you’re experiencing, how they’re affecting your daily life, and what severity they hold right now.

    • Clarifying your therapeutic goals – This is your space to dream big. We’ll uncover not just what you want relief from, but what you want to move toward: deeper relationships, calm, joy, confidence, creativity—whatever healing looks like for you.

    • Creating a thorough trauma timeline – We’ll walk through your life chronologically, identifying disturbing or traumatic experiences from childhood through the present day. This timeline gives us crucial context for understanding what needs processing and why.

    • Identifying negative self-beliefs – We’ll surface the beliefs that trauma has etched into your identity—like “I’m not safe,” “I’m too much,” or “I don’t matter”—so we can target them directly in our Brainspotting work.

    • Exploring your positive internal and external resources – Healing isn’t just about what’s broken. It’s also about what supports you. We’ll identify the people, practices, places, and internal qualities that help you feel grounded and whole—spirituality, nature, ancestors, mentors, creativity, and more.

    • Naming your desired emotional states – What are the feelings you want more of? Hope, peace, clarity, connection, safety, vitality—we’ll get clear on the emotional experiences you’re working toward.

    • Assessing your strengths – You are not your trauma. We’ll highlight your resilience, wisdom, and coping skills, so we can call on those strengths when things get hard.

    • Tailoring your treatment plan – Based on everything we uncover, I’ll create a customized, measurable treatment plan designed specifically for your Brainspotting intensive. This plan will guide our work and help us stay focused on what matters most to you.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clear sense of direction—and a sense of safety and readiness—for the transformative work ahead. You’ll leave feeling seen, supported, and empowered to step into the next phase of your healing.

  • This is the heart of the experience.

The Brainspotting Intensive – Clearing Trauma and Expanding Into Possibility

Our intensive work is divided into two powerful phases: Clearing and Expansion. Each phase honors your brain’s natural healing intelligence—guiding you through the deep release of trauma and into a fuller, more vibrant connection with your self.

Step One: Clear Your Trauma(s) and Negative Beliefs About Yourself

In this phase, we’ll gently but powerfully begin to process the trauma and limiting beliefs that have kept you stuck.

    • You’ll work one-on-one with a trauma-informed Brainspotting therapist (that’s me!) in a focused, supportive environment. This is your space to explore painful experiences, overwhelming memories, and patterns of distress at a nervous system level.

    • Through Brainspotting, we regulate the brain at its deepest levels, helping you shift out of survival mode and into healing. This isn’t just about talking—it’s about experiencing deep, embodied release.

    • We’ll identify and process negative core beliefs you may have carried for years—like “I’m unlovable,” “I’m broken,” or “I’m not enough.” These beliefs often stem from trauma and live in the body, not just the mind. Brainspotting allows us to clear them at the source.

This phase can feel emotional and intense—but also profoundly liberating. It’s about finally giving your brain and body the space to metabolize what you’ve been holding for far too long.

Step Two: Expansion Brainspotting – Reclaim and Grow Into Your Full Self

Once we’ve created space by releasing the pain of the past, we turn toward growth, integration, and expansion. This is where the real magic begins.

    • We focus on reclaiming lost or disowned parts of yourself—the joyful, creative, confident, curious aspects that trauma may have buried.

    • You’ll strengthen positive beliefs like “I am safe,” “I matter,” and “I am allowed to take up space.”

    • We connect with the truth of your inherent goodness, using Brainspotting to access and reinforce your wholeness—not just as a concept, but as a felt experience in your body.

    • Together, we expand desired states of being—like joy, peace, stillness, love, and connection—by anchoring them in your nervous system through Brainspotting.

    • You’ll learn how to cultivate self-love and self-compassion, not just as ideas, but as internal realities you can return to again and again.

This expansion phase helps you integrate your healing, restore your sense of identity, and reconnect with the life you want to create.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

How Brainspotting Therapy Supports Trauma Recovery

Woman exhausted resting her head on her window ledge overlooking a big city

You’re not the only one who feels numb when you’re “supposed” to feel something. Or who gets triggered by things that don’t make sense—even to you. You’re not the only one who can’t remember chunks of your story… or who remembers too much, too vividly.

That’s why I offer Brainspotting therapy for trauma—a body-based method designed to help your brain and nervous system release what’s been stuck for too long.

If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and still feel overwhelmed, shut down, or like you’re “just surviving,” Brainspotting can help you heal in a different way. It doesn’t require you to explain everything or relive painful memories over and over. Instead, it works by gently locating where your brain has stored trauma—using eye position to access the deeper parts of your nervous system that hold onto those experiences.

Brainspotting can help with symptoms like dissociation, emotional flooding, hypervigilance, and shutdown. These aren’t personality flaws—they’re protective responses your body has developed to get you through.

You are not broken. You’re responding to real overwhelm in the only way your system knew how. You don’t have to carry it alone anymore. Healing from trauma is possible—starting with Brainspotting.

What to Expect in a Brainspotting Session

When trauma impacts your life, healing can feel overwhelming or out of reach. Brainspotting offers a gentle, body-centered way to process what’s been stored deep inside—helping you move from survival toward greater peace and balance. Here’s what a typical Brainspotting session looks like, so you know what to expect when you’re ready to begin your healing journey.

  • A Safe and Affirming Environment: We’ll create a safe and affirming environment where you feel comfortable being your true self. Feeling secure and supported is key to helping your nervous system relax and open to healing.

  • Finding Your Brainspot: We’ll work together to locate your “brainspot”—a specific eye position connected to the emotions, memories, or experiences you want to process. Using gentle guidance and your natural focus, we help your brain access the areas holding onto trauma.

  • Mind-Body Awareness: Throughout the session, you’ll be invited to notice any physical sensations, feelings, or thoughts that come up. Brainspotting helps you develop mind-body awareness, gently releasing stuck energy without needing to rehash painful stories in detail.

  • Gentle and Non-Intrusive: There’s no need to relive painful memories in detail. Brainspotting works subtly and powerfully to resolve trauma beneath the surface.

This process is subtle but powerful—working beneath the surface to heal trauma stored in the body and mind. Many clients describe sessions as deeply calming and freeing, even though the healing happens gradually and naturally.

  • In talk therapy, you use words and insight to explore your experiences. In Brainspotting, we bypass the thinking brain and work directly with the deeper, emotional parts of the brain and nervous system. This can help you process things you feel more than you can explain.

  • Not at all. Brainspotting is designed to help your body release what’s stuck without having to go into graphic detail or relive painful memories. You don’t even need to name what happened for healing to occur. Brainspotting can be as talkative or silent as you want.

  • If you’ve felt stuck in talk therapy, carry trauma in your body, or struggle with anxiety, emotional reactivity, or dissociation, Brainspotting might be a good fit. Many clients say they feel a shift after just a few sessions.

  • Yes. You don’t need a clear memory to benefit. Your body remembers, even if your mind doesn’t—and Brainspotting works with the body’s memory system.
